Cailyn was admitted back at Childrens Hospital on Monday really early in the morning after another ambulance ride from our local hospital. She was having seizures and they couldn't get them under control so we got sent off to the specialists. She's on a second medicine now and the seizures have stopped. They are going to do a study tomorrow to see what's causing the problems with her swallowing and choking. When that happens she seems to have seizures.
So the question is, is she having a seizure that makes her not be able to swallow right or is the swallowing stressing her body and causing a seizure? We don't know but I made them listen to me about the eating and they are going to do a test tomorrow.
She definitely has epilepsy, they've seen that and confirmed it on tests but is this eating thing causing more or different seizures, we're not sure.
I'm thinking we'll be here until Thursday or Friday at least. She is doing fine now and the seizures seemed to have stopped so today will be a lot of just hanging out and watching the baby sleep and feeding her when she gets up. That is just fine when there aren't seizures going on, a boring baby is a treat.
More details as we find out information.
