Another round

Cailyn started another round of seizures this morning. Between 10:30 and 12:30 she had about 14. They were lasting a longer amount of time and when she'd finish one she'd start another.

We called the doctors at Johns Hopkins and they are having her do the Atavan taper like we did last week. She gets two doses of Atavan, which is like Valium, twice today, twice tomorrow and then Thursday morning. She gets a bit drugged out from it but it calms the seizures, lets her get some rest and get back to her normal self a little better.

We also upped her Topamax to 4ml twice a day. Her doctor is out of the office but will be back on Thursday so I'll need to call and talk to him about a bunch of questions and also get him to renew the Atavan so we can take it with us on our road trip next week. He said there was no reason for us not to go on the road trip and named the hospitals between here and Tampa that we could go to if we had any problems.

We'll take all the doctor's phone numbers with us and her new Medic Alert anklette and hope she does ok.

By my birthday, with any luck she'll be on just one Medicine and her vitamin and we can kiss the other 3 goodbye. That's all for now. Cailyn is resting peaceful so that's all we can hope for.
