Cailyn had an appointment with her new pediatrician today. Her name is Ruth McDonald and she was recommended to me by a number of people who have more experience with Special Needs kids. She's more willing to listen to our concerns about too many vaccines at one time, food allergies and also her PT and OT.
Cailyn is catching up on shots since we had to take a break at 6 months because of her steroid regiment. So today she got the first half of the flu shot and then two shots. We'll go back in a month and get the second half of the flu shot and one more shot.
She was a real trooper. She slept through the exam and all the talking I did with the doctor and woke up just before the shots. It seemed like there was a delayed reaction because she didn't start crying until the second shot was done and we were going in for the third. The nurse who administered the shots asked a lot of questions about Cailyn's epilepsy and was very interested. She said she was a doctor in Egypt but now in America she can't practice but is working as a nurse.
Cailyn's growing really well. She is 21 lbs 1 oz which is the 50th percentile, 28 inches which is the 75th percentile and her huge noggin, which she obviously gets from her Dad, is up at the 97th percentile.
