We knew it was coming but they announced the cost savings plan at work today.
The highlights:
- mandatory 5 furlough days between now and July with a possibility of 10 more after that
- no 401K match
- the ability to go part time working 4 days a week with a paycut
- and they laid out the options for voluntary and involuntary layoffs
Layoffs are going to be based on business needs not performance. More than likely my job is safe because they are moving more items from print to web to save print and mail costs but who knows. There's still the possibility of 3 unpaid weeks off.
