Poor little lady

My poor girl. She can't communicate to us at all if she's hungry or in pain or anything and ends up she has strep throat. She doesn't have a fever but since last week she just doesn't want to drink. She would take a mouth full of juice or milk and then just let it dribble out.

I actually tossed a carton of soy milk because it was a different brand and I thought maybe she didn't like it, that she was actually showing a preference in tastes. Ends up not so much. We went to the pediatrician this morning and they didn't see anything but a slight redness in her throat. The checked for strep and she tested positive. No fever, no coughing or anything, no other way to know what was wrong.

They opted for a shot of penicillin instead of 10 days antibiotics since she's already on so many other meds. She doesn't mind 1 shot, she doesn't cry or usually flinch. I had to go to another appointment so my sister who is in town stayed with Cailyn for the shot.

To quote Danielle's Facebook status... just took Cailyn to the dr. for a shot....she is a trooper.... i almost passed out

Apparently they put penicillin deep in the muscle so there was a lot of blood after and the bandaid was full. She seems ok and as per usual, her seizures are better when she's sick, which is the opposite of what is supposed to happen. She's gone 24 hours without a seizure and it's been a while since she's gone that long.

Hopefully she'll be back to normal before too long. Gave her some jello and vanilla soy pudding, maybe an ice pop after a nap.

On another note, Aunt Danielle's visit has not been boring, to say the least, she was met at the garbage can by a skunk, didn't sleep last night because the battery was dying on the carbon monoxide detector and it beeped all night and then today she got to help with Cailyn's shot. Too bad she goes back to FL on Thursday.
