Well I hate saying these things out loud but we are right about the one month mark for the disappearance of seizures. We'll have to have another EEG to see if they are really gone or just not visible like the last time they "disappeared". Just trying not to get overly excited, cautiously optimistic. The giggles continue but seem to be tied to startles, they are just so darn cute though.
School starts in just a few weeks, holy cow. Soon I'll be sending my girl off on a school bus with strangers. I've been assured she'll be fine but it makes it no easier.
One kink in the school thing is getting Cailyn's wheelchair. She's supposed to have it for school and especially for the bus because they'll use the tie downs and this will double as a carseat. Well, since nothing can go easily with ordering ANY medical equipment, things moved semi-smoothly through insurance approval, this just takes like 2 months but no bumps this time. Then the order is sent in and oops, the wheelchair we got approved by insurance is on a 2 month back order from exportation from Germany, and that's if it isn't discontinued first. UGH! So Friday we will go to the equipment place and take a look at a few new rides, get Cailyn re-measured and order a new wheelchair. The company has said that as long as the new one is equivalent in price they'll order it and do all the insurance paperwork afterwards. We still won't have it in time for school but much quicker. I think I'll probably be driving Cailyn to school for the first few weeks unless we come up with another solution.
Took a quick family trip to the Air and Space Museum Udvar Hazy Center in Chantilly. We walked around the hangar for a few hours and saw planes and the space shuttle. Then a yummy Italian dinner at Cantina d'Italia.
We've begun the hunt for a new babysitter. Now that school is starting we have to cover the days Sarah is in school. We'll only need after pre-school care from 12-6 and I think just Mon and Wed.
Oh, and the drink strike continues... drip, drip, drip... it's the only way to get her to drink... one drip at a time. The strike is at 5 or 6 weeks at this point. I don't even want to look at a calendar and figure it out.
