First Day of School

So we all survived the first week of school with minimal tears. We get a daily report of Cailyn's activities as well as if she took a nap, what she ate and if there are any supplies we have to send in the next day. The bus gets to the house around 7:10 and then she gets back at 12:10. We've effectively changed Cailyn's sleep schedule and now she's going to bed like all the other 2 year olds, no more midnight for my girl. I've been getting her up before 6 in order to get up, dressed, fed and medicated. It has been a painful switch in schedules. I went to sleep by 9:30 all week.

And this is when Mommy starting crying... whew it all hit me really hard at that moment, the wheelchair lift taking away my baby. Hopefully soon we'll have her wheelchair and the bus will be a bit easier. Now we send a stroller with her and they strap her into a carseat. When we have the wheelchair, that will be her carseat, so they'll just wheel her in and seatbelt in her chair.

Here are some other photos. The first is Cailyn in her new bath chair. A safety device as much for mine and Curt's backs as for Cailyn.

In Cailyn's class they are going to do Arts and Crafts and I had to get her an art apron. I found these iron on letters to personalize it. She's also trying on a hat Aunt Danielle brought her back from Peru. Should be nice and warm for the winter.
