Ok, so this is a little early, but I got my Christmas cards in the mail yesterday with a note for folks to check out our family Web site. So this is my virtual Christmas Letter and a review of the past year...
A few of the highlights of 2007
*In June we found out we are expecting our first child and in September found out it's a girl. She's due Feb 10 and is still unnamed. Her nickname so far is Burger, from Grandpa Lupo, since I was calling her Baby Girl Reese or BGR for short. So that explains any references to Burger in the Blog below.
*In July we went to San Francisco, a city I had always wanted to visit. Curt had a work trip so I tagged along. We got to see a lot of the sites. It was a very nice trip.
*In September I had to go to Boston to work the AARP Convention and at that point hadn't told anyone at work I was pregnant so it was a week of long tiring days. I did get to do some fun stuff though and attend the Tony Bennett and Rod Stewart concerts and meet Richard Simmons. He is exactly the same in person, little tank top and Daisy Duke shorts. He was very gracious and great with the fans. He showed up early and stayed late to talk with and take photos with everyone in the room.
*In October we went to Florida for my Dad's surprise 60th Birthday party and finally met my niece Mattie. We also got to get the family together for something other than funerals, which with everyone grown up and spread out around the country gets harder to do.
We did have some sad news in November though, Veterans Day weekend we had to put my dog Cady to sleep. She'd been with me since a few months after college graduation and way before Curt. It was so sudden. She was fine all weekend and then come 6:30 p.m. on Sunday she wouldn't eat and then couldn't walk. We rushed her to emergency. Apparently she had a mass on her spleen that had burst and she was bleeding internally. We had to put her to sleep at 9:30. Elvis has been adjusting but we were all really sad. Her loss was devastating and so fast.
Now we've been attending our Baby Classes at the hospital and getting the house ready. Its about 70 days until Burger's due date. There will be lots of photos and Baby news on this site once she gets here so stay tuned.
Happy Holidays
