Well I meant to post this last week but we got a little sidetracked.
A lot of folks were asking about how we chose the name Cailyn. For months we went back and forth and couldn't decide. If it was a boy we were in agreement what we were going to name him but then we got the news in September that she was a she and the name game began.
For a while we were considering Lily, Jamie, Phoebe and a bunch of others. Then one night some friends came over and were giving us suggestions. It really stressed me out so I pulled out the baby books. One of the names Curt loved and I hated was Caitlin. Part of why I didn't like it was because the nickname is Caitie and that was just too close to my dog Cady. (We lost her in November.)
So I was scouring the books for names and came across Cailin. It was a little a-ha moment because it was close enough to Caitlin for Curt and the nickname was more to my liking... Caily.
Also, a sign I guess was the name listed right above it in the book.
Interesting too what Cady really meant -- her being part German Shepherd and having a love of herding her people where she wanted them to go.
So that's how we came up with Cailyn (the spelling we prefer) and Juliette was my Grandmother's name. Now her initials are CJ just like Curt and Jen and later she can use that as a nickname if she prefers.
