With all the stuff she's been through so far Cailyn seems to be doing ok and growing really well. She's up to ten and a half pounds and twenty-three inches long. She will be two months old on Tuesday and she started out at eighteen inches and seven pounds fourteen ounces.
She's also learning and doing new things all the time which is really cool. She has an activity mat that you can set the music to go off when she kicks or pulls on one of the toys and she's figured that out. She'll be laying on the mat and you'll be in the other room, it will be quiet and then you hear the music start up again.
Also, to keep up on the medical stuff...
I just spoke with the neurologist and we are going to start up again the medicine we just went off -- Topamax. I'm learning that a lot of this seizure stuff is trial and error and what drugs will work for her. We try one and if it doesn't work we have to try another one.
On Tuesday morning she'll have another EEG done and if they see a certain type of brainwave that's when she'll be admitted to the hospital to start a new injectable medicine. They'll get her to whatever level works for her and we'll have to learn how to give the injections as well.
