Well it may be that Cailyn's seizures this week were brought on by her being sick. She had a fever yesterday and a little sniffle. Everytime we've been to the doctor or an emergency room they always ask if she's sick. Apparently when you get sick your body chemistry changes and this can make people with epilepsy more prone to seizures.
So for now she's taking Tylenol to keep the fever away and is still on the Ativan. I just found out from the neurologist that we should continue the Ativan, which is the sedation drug, for 4 more doses. This helps calm the storm in her brain and keep away seizures. It will also make her sleep for much of the weekend.
Yesterday sucked pretty bad too I had to take Cailyn to the hospital to try and get her blood drawn for amino acid tests. They tried on Tuesday and poked her too many times and couldn't get anything. The women at the hospital were amazing and got the blood in one shot, but she was miserable, had a fever and we rushed her to the pediatrician later in the day.
