Grandma and Grandpa head home, MRI Results

Well Grandma and Grandpa loaded up the car and headed home this morning. Long drive but they should be home in 15 hours or so. We had a productive visit, Grandpa helped Curt put up Cailyn's new swingset. We didn't get the slide yet because Cailyn can't use it anyway. It will attach to the platform on the left side.

We also defrosted the chest freezer, which hasn't been done since we moved in 5 years ago I think... oops. We also painted our master bath. A few more touchups and then we can hang the shower curtain rod and put everything back together. Back to work Monday... BOOO!

I spoke to Cailyn's neurologist yesterday. The results of the MRI didn't show much change since the last MRI about a year and four months ago. Cailyn's brain isn't developing as it's supposed to which is all consistent from her last MRI. Nothing they see as a surgical option for her seizures. So the next steps are to add in the new medication and hope it helps. Her neurologist doesn't think we will ever get her seizures to stop but just get them a little better under control. The new medicine is bad, lots of bad side effects that we have to keep an eye out for. He asked if we'd rather start it sooner rather than later. I told him we'd rather start now. If she's going to have bad side effects I'd rather she be with us at home rather than be at school which starts after Labor Day.
