Building her strength

Today has been spent building back Cailyn's strength and getting her more alert. She's been eating well and was on an IV until a few minutes ago. The IV had to come out and she is such a horrible stick we are going to wait a bit to make sure she's eating ok and her blood sugar numbers are still ok to see if she really still needs one. She's still sleepy and pretty out of it but she's been starved and had lots of seizures over the past week so I'm thinking it will take at least through the weekend. We are also going to try to feed her every 3 hours around the clock for now. She was eating every 4 hours during the day and sleeping all night long but she can sleep and eat at the same time so that's the plan. They'll also wait until she's back to full strength to start the steroids. She can't get any vaccines or flu shots while she's on the steroids but it will only be a month to 6 weeks so I think we'll just be at the start of flu season and we'll be able to get her that shot early enough.

My parents are still in town and now they decided my Mom will fly back tomorrow and my Dad and Bruno the doggy will stay a few days.

I'm planning on staying tonight but I think Curt wants to as well. We'll see when it comes down to it. We only have one car today so we'll have to make a decision later on when my parents want to go back to the house.

More updates later. Thanks to everyone for their support.
